We hold onto things that make us feel youthful. But, at around 45, I walked into my closet and wondered who the clothes hanging in the closet belonged to.
The green plunging sequin bodysuit from Revolve got me. Purchased for a girl’s trip in Austin. Worn once, and never again. That singular item sent me on a downward spiral questioning things hanging in my closet that were taking up space but not being worn.
A shorts romper that feels too short.
Cropped tops.
Anything super bodycon.
I am not here to say that I CAN’T wear these things or that I shouldn’t. I don’t necessarily feel comfortable wearing these things anymore.
What was sexy in my 20’s, was very different from my 30’s. And now in my late 40’s “sexy” takes on a whole new meaning. I know it sounds crazy, but sexy to me is wearing beautiful fabrics, perfect fitting silhouettes, and feeling confident in my body.
