Being a Gen-X woman, I feel like we are guinea pigs for all of the new treatments, and skincare. We are hitting our 40s and 50s at the peak of technology, allowing us to age differently than generations past.
With the amount of skincare, and treatments available, a question I often ask myself is where should I invest my time and money?
As someone who never shied away from the sun, and used tanning beds in my teens and 20’s, I have dealt with a good amount of sun damage. By the time I hit my 30s I had a lot of brown spots, redness, and discoloration in my skin.
ALSO, the biggest thing as we age, is that we all stop producing collagen! In our 20-30s, production begins to decline, losing about 1% per year. In our 40’s production stops dramatically, leading to signs of aging such as wrinkles, skin sagging, and skin drying.
