This is such a terrible thought, but I often think about what it would be like if men had to deal with periods. How different would our world be?! Unless you are a woman, you can only understand what it feels like to be completely out of control of your mind and body. We are at the mercy of our Hormones!!!! Every day I wake up and hope that today will be a good day. Because honestly, those days are few and far between!
I have been chatting about midlife periods, with many different girlfriends around my age (40-50). It is interesting to hear what other women are experiencing, and I will tell you it runs the gamut.
Some women I have spoken to experience no symptoms; their periods just come and go.
While others it completely rocks their world; causing debilitating PMS, heavy bleeding, migraines, and cramps.
It would be nice to know why some women are so much more affected by their hormones! (Again, if men had periods I am sure there would be way more research and help/resources regarding this issue!)
As I am typing this I am on day 8 of thinking my period will be here. EVERY.SINGLE.SYMPTOM. yet nothing! The PMS is NEVERENDING!!!!!!
Periods after 40.
I have always dealt with not “great” periods, but after 40 they really went downhill. I started experiencing cysts, clotting, very heavy bleeding, and hormonal migraine headaches (a few days before, the day of, or after my period). I now find that I experience all the phases in one way or another.
Can anyone else relate to this: I have about 7 days out of the month that I feel “normal”. 7, THAT IS IT!
