There is a weird thing that happens around 45. At first, I thought it was only me, but after talking to more women in my age range, I am not alone. Part of me wonders if it is our generation. I feel like everyone I knew went to college, with a career goal, and most of them achieved that goal.
Our generation has always wanted to work and work hard. Many people I know have multiple degrees, have achieved their career goals, and have had children. And then once you have checked all the boxes, you begin to think…now what?
This is what I call the midlife rut.
