Mid-Life Non-Negotiables
Here are things that are non-negotiable, must-have, and make my life better, easier, and more fulfilling:
Feeling good every day: If I feel like shit, it rocks my world. I will do anything to feel optimal. As someone who struggles with migraines, and body pain, I have worked really hard to get to a point where I wake up feeling amazing. That means eating super healthy, not drinking often, and movement.
Sleep: I know that this can change in an instant, but right now I have been sleeping really good. Mushroom chocolates, OR These THC + CBD gummies are little miracle workers! Earlybird has a code for you MELANIE for 20% off! Valid until June 30th. They are only 2.5% THC. It's super mild and will make you relaxed and sleepy!
Movement: I don’t stress about it, but getting some physical activity a few days a week is a must. I get the most out of walks + strength training! I love a light sculpt or pilates class too. For me, less is more when it comes to working out. No more crazy cardio, HIIT classes.
Friends: I cannot live without my friends. They are a daily check-in, support group, someone to bounce ideas off of, someone to vent to, someone to lift me up, to laugh or cry with. My circle has gotten smaller as I have gotten older. As you age, you begin to realize that life is short; too short for relationships that don’t fill your cup. I love and enjoy a lot of people! But my circle of trust and daily interaction is quite small. I feel so lucky to have made amazing friends in all of the cities I have lived in. I am grateful for those friends who still call and text me regularly! I highly recommend picking up the phone. In a world of texting and dm’s which can sometimes feel impersonal, a phone call goes A LONG WAY!
