It’s Sunday night, and I have been pondering a topic for today’s post all weekend. And this is what came to me.
Over my lifetime, I have moved A LOT. Our family moved every few years, which forced me to make new friendships at every new school. My dad worked in the liquor industry, and promotions would take us to new cities. I was forced to start over in all of my activities and sports and make new friends with kids in the neighborhood. This happened in 1st, 5th, and 8th grade. Being a parent now, I’m not sure how my mom did it! I am also unsure how I managed it as well as I did (even moving in 8th grade). I am sure I was sad, but it was never traumatic. I have to attribute that to something, and maybe it was my parents just guiding me and helping me figure it out. It’s funny how we can’t remember things like this. All I know is that I was happy wherever we landed.
